Our Deli was opened back in 1989 and is managed by Di, with Barbara as her assistant. It started primarily to sell the home-cooked meats that we were cooking for the sandwiches we make in the bakery. These are so popular that we sell at least a whole joint of each every day, so customers can be sure the meat they buy is really fresh. We roast the joints in the traditional way and slice to order and the results are there to see!
There is also a well stocked cheese counter and customers are encouraged to taste cheeses before making their choice, and we particularly favour farm made cheeses especially local varieties.
We sell free range eggs, English bacon, local sausages, (as well as some very special sausages from the Ribble Valley which are available at weekends) as well as butter, yoghurt, milk, fresh coffee and tea.
We have our own range of jams , preserves and chutney under 'Mrs Rays' label and also sell a wide range of provisions. Most of our range has grown from customer recommendations.
A recent addition has been a deep freeze stocked with excellent ready meals from 'Cook'. These are in a different league to those usually available and are proving very popular. We also sell ice cream from a local farm which is to die for !
The Deli is open the same hours as the bakery - 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am to 4pm on Saturday.
Coffee Shop
The coffee shop is situated next door to the bakery and deli and has 15 tables. We serve the most wonderful coffee, as well as pots of tea, milk shakes and soft drinks. Food ranges from a full cooked breakfast to light lunches and afternoon tea. The 'Specials' board changes daily and the menu is made up of produce from the bakery and deli so freshness is assured.
