COMPANY HISTORY

RAYS OF PRESCOT
|
|
The company was founded in 1924 by Marion Ray and has grown as a family craft bakery and is currently run by Marion's granddaughter, Michele. Many original recipes are still used in particular for traditional favourites such as Christmas Puddings, Eccles Cakes, parkin and many savoury products.

Starting as a bakery with one retail shop, the business now encompasses an enlarged shop, a well stocked delicatessen and a coffee shop serving a wide range of dishes, from breakfast through lunch to afternoon tea. In addition there is a Celebration Cake Display Room with samples of the imaginative and special cakes available.

|
Rays have won many prestigious awards, the highlight of which was 'Baker of the Year' in 2000.
|
|
We were also voted the North West's 'Tastiest Baker' in 2004, and were runners-up nationally.
|

MRS RAY'S PUDDING COMPANY
|
|
We formed this division in 1995 to promote our fine traditional puddings. These include Christmas Pudding, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Bread and Butter Pudding and many others. These are available from our own retail shop in Prescot and also through the Wholesale Division to Hotels, Restaurants, and other retail outlets. Christmas Puddings are available for export.
