The company was founded in 1924 by Marion Ray and has grown as a family craft bakery and is currently run by Marion's granddaughter, Michele. Many original recipes are still used in particular for traditional favourites such as Christmas Puddings, Eccles Cakes, parkin and many savoury products. |

Rays have won many prestigious awards, the highlight of which was 'Baker of the Year' in 2000. We were also voted the North West's 'Tastiest Baker' in 2004, and were runners-up nationally. |

In recent years Rays has expanded its wholesale bakery department, and now supplies a number of prestigious customers, including: |

Our wholesale product range includes specialty breads, savouries, cakes, desserts, not forgetting our wonderful Christmas puddings and mince pies, all freshly made to order. |

Starting as a bakery with one retail shop, the business now encompasses an enlarged shop, a well stocked delicatessen and a coffee shop serving a wide range of dishes, from breakfast through lunch to afternoon tea. In addition there is a Celebration Cake Display Room with samples of the imaginative and special cakes available. Rays also offer a catering section, please call for more details.
